Heroes of the Hurricane: Big trucks help flooded residents check their homes

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Hurricane Irma added insult to injury for some people living in Bonita Springs.

Two weeks before the storm hit, several neighborhoods flooded after days of heavy rainstorms, and more than 100 people had to be rescued from their homes in Southwest Florida.

But just as they were beginning to dry out, Irma dropped an additional 10 inches of rain.

But thanks to a few guys with big hearts and some big rides, folks were able to get to their homes and to check on loved ones after the storm.
