According to the City of Jacksonville, NC, about 70 occupants have been evacuated from a hotel after heavy winds caused the roof to collapse at Triangle Motor Inn.

A call came in to the Jacksonville Center for Public Safety around 12:45 am Friday morning with reports that the roof collapsed, allowing rain to flood some of the rooms.

Firefighters found cinder blocks crumbling in some areas while occupants were still inside the building.

The occupants including an infant, women, and pets were taken to the Jacksonville Center for Public Safety while authorities try to find a shelter for them.

No injuries were reported.
