No Tropical Development Expected This Week

After dealing with the wrath of Matthew last week, things will be quieter in the Atlantic this week. Nicole, which has been meandering around in the Atlantic will get picked up by upper level westerlies in the jet stream and be taken out to sea later this week.

In the meantime, conditions in the Gulf, Caribbean and Western Atlantic will be unfavorable for tropical development in the near-term due to wind shear and a lack of any organized areas of thunderstorms from which a tropical cyclone can develop. It is expected to remain that way this week.
