Two men parked a trailer in downtown Punta Gorda to load it up with donations to take to Everglades City.
Nick Kelly and Lee Richardson coordinated the community outreach through social media to support what they call the "forgotten city."
People donated wet wipes, rubber boots, Gatorade, toiletries, and water. One person even donated two brand new generators.
The two men say they will pick up more goods Thursday morning and then head to Everglades City.
