Scattered Storms Friday, Weekend Mostly Dry

Posted

The weekend will feature a mixed bag of weather across Southwest Florida.

First, a cold front will bring the chance for showers and storms to the area Friday afternoon. Although rain is possible anywhere today, the better focus of storms will be along and east of I-75 in the afternoon and evening hours. Areas that could see this are Lehigh Acres, Alva, LaBellle, Clewiston, Moore Haven and Immokalee.

Severe weather is not expected today. However, some of the rain could get heavy with gusty winds and lightning at times. Rain chances will be around 40% today.

Overnight Friday into the morning hours of Saturday, we could hold on to a few lingering showers across the area. However, by Saturday afternoon we will see a drying trend with clearing skies and nice weather. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s this weekend with plenty of sunshine Saturday and Sunday.
